Yes, Virginia, there are mobile shabu labs

THANKS, for the most part, to citizen vigilance (specifically of the barangayfolk of Apanao, Burgos in western Pangasinan), the Philippine National Police now has strong proof that the drug syndicates have gone mobile in their operations, using even hills and mountainsides to “cook” their deadly product.
Necessarily, the PNP is expected to shift its information campaign to far-flung barangays and hilly communities. The culprits, after all, have found the venture in Burgos a breeze and may be expected to try the encamp-cook-leave gambit again at the next hill or village sooner– or later– than the cops think.
This early (?) the PNP must prepare for the time (and the potential embarrassment it will surely cause) when otherwise innocent barangayfolk are lured to become helpers or runners of these smart and moneyed drug trade operators in the foreseeable future. Remember that money talks, and talks even loudest to simple folks. God forbid.
Then we will be seeing not just recruitments by the CPP-NPA unit propaganda teams but also by Shabu, Inc. Just imagine too if these two underground groups ever merge for mutually profitable ventures, dealing our cops yet another two-pack, king-size trouble.
I’m sure though that our friend, General Pol Bataoil, the newly appointed regional police director, already has that possibility all though out, and hopefully, sufficiently addressed before this infant peace and order headache becomes a full-blown migraine.
